Thanks to all who serve(d) & their families.... It is great to see all the messages of thanks today, but let's not forget those who have paid for our freedom. Everytime we gather to brew or to enjoy the fruits of our labor we should remember that we live free because of the scarifices of brave men & women.

General Homebrew Discussion / Re: Chocolate flavor in Porter

I have use double chocolate vodoka and coco powder with good results. Roasting the coco nibs will help reduce the oil,I roast pecans I use in my porter to reduce both the oil & tannins. If you are worried about head retention use  a little wheat in your grain bill or heading powder at packaging.
Good Luck

Pimp My System / PMS question

Every guys dream, no not that..... a in door water dispenser that pours beer?  How hare would it be to convert a SXS fridge freezer with in door water & ice to pour beer from the water dispenser. I'm thinking the hose diamater on the water dispenser might be the main issue. A thermostat or temp controller on the freezer and it should be good to go.  It might not be practical but it would be cool in the man cave.
Any thoughts?

I use espresso vodka @ bottling... also a little freeze dried espresso in the secondary or @ bottling... get great flavors just let it age a while.

Going Pro / Re: Do I got what it takes?

The question you have to ask is: If this is the path I want to take what am I willing to do to get there?
Many probrewers look down on nanos. Kind of like the big guys used to look down on micro/craft brewers, so don't be discouraged by soundbrewing or any others if this is your dream.  Are you willing/able to work full time & brew after work & on weekends to make it happen?  Do you have a relationship with pub/resturant/bar/tavern owners to give you bar space? You know how to run your own business, market your self and develop a client base. These skills may be just as important as your brewing abilities.  Dream big, start small & be patient you don't get there overnight. If you can slowly grow eventually you maybe able to quit your day job or at least put more time in to brewing. Not everyone will be or wants to be the next Dogfish but most of us  would love to see our beer in an establishment of some sort.
