thanks y'all for the advice. just brewed a kolsh and it turned out well, and closely matches the style guide. what denny says makes you go duh! i'm just starting to read about AGB and all chem that goes along with it. being new it this i'm finding it's not as scary to make good drinkable beer, but it's the little things that makes a great beer. again thanks

when steering grain, what is the proper procedure. can you put the grain bag in the cold water and bring it up to 155 deg f. or do you need to have your water at the proscribed temp then drop the grain? ???

out of work right now. barely have enough extra to scrape together to buy kit[ i show my wife the cost of a kit vs. the price of  1/6 brl of craft beer ] but as soon as i get a job i will join. until then thanks to AHA for allowing us a site to come to and learn and dream.

it's good that you used a cc. my problem with them was getting bad reg. 4x. then they gave up and never responded. i contacted my cc co. and after going thru the proper procedures the cc co. refunded my money. funny thing t. hargrave set  up his own message board, just go in there and see many complaints are on his own board. my 2 cents if you do bussiness with this co. they only have a 25 - 33 % chance of getting it right the first time and in a timely manner
