Both audio and video captures of presentations are ideas that have been discussed and I'm willing to bet will be implemented at some point.  Powerpoints are available going back a few years.  ...

Since we have the new revised friendly and super spiffy home page.
Where the heck are the PDF and sessions from previous years located?
I can't seem to find them.

Too dark for style? Was it pitch black like a swarzbier? Anyway, the commercial examples listed are not necessarily 50 pt beers, just ones which are representative of the style.
Not as bad a swartzbeir, but it was dark, ummmm like Black Cat is supposed to be.

I understand what you're saying Denny, but when a beer is listed as a commercial example of a particular style then one would think you should be able to "clone it" and do reasonably well in a competition.

It's not just "a" reference beer. It's the FIRST reference beer.

And I have put down on a score sheet "I'd love the recipe for this beer".
Nobody's taken me up on the request yet. :(

I was told that Maudite is not a Belgian beer. However, it was an excellent clone of Maudite. Major dings on score for that one.

I wonder if judges ever look at the reference beers in the BJCP guide?
Hint: it's on line two. Duh!

All the other five entries of mine suffered from similar jackass comments.
So I just quit entering competitions. Why waste the time and money?

What you need to do is do a batch of a recipe that you know the efficiency of with the blades off and see if it makes a difference.

If Australia was organized it would be huge.
25% of brew consumed there is HB.
Driven there by high taxation.
Supposedly only 10% of that 25% is what they call craft brew or what we call AG.

21Mil population.
Quite astounding when you consider the possibilities.
And they owe it all to money grubbin' politicians.

I brew out on the deck. I pump the wort through 35' of line to the 27 gal ferminator in my wine cellar.
One RIS batch I forgot to remove the safety weight from the OPV valve.
The ferminaror filled about a gallon and a half.
The pressure popped the fill tube (a drilled #7 stopper in the lid) out.
The remaining 10+ gallons of 25°P RIS flowed onto the lid and then the floor of the wine cellar.
I spent the next three months unloading racks, mopping, cleaning and drying the floor, and reloading racks.
