General Homebrew Discussion / Kolsch kit
« on: February 24, 2015, 05:32:16 PM »
Made a kolsch kit this past Saturday, yet it seems it fermented too quickly.  No bubbles that I have noticed today.  I looked in the bucket and it looks like it is done.  I'm giving it another day or two to see if any change.  Any comments or advise welcome.

Thanks.   ;D

General Homebrew Discussion / Yeast
« on: February 15, 2015, 01:40:47 PM »
Hey all,

I'm still a newbie, left the game due to work but back now.  I got a kit from a store but it brought no yeast.  will any yeast work?  I'm making a Kolsch.  I have some packets of Feischmann's RapidRise Highly active yeast...  3/4 oz each.
Please assist.  I greatly appreciate this.

Wil be making my first IPA this weekend.  It will be my third kit beer.  I plan to move on beyond its and start creating and experimenting.  Any advice?

OK, bottling today at some point...what is the best way to get the bottles ready?  I've heard of baking at 350 for 2 hours and of running in dish washer.....  :-\

ok, cool.  For a second there I was concerned...the derections stated 6 days so i was not sure how accurate that would actually be...Thanks for the help!!

I'm probably answering my own question here but It is better to get ingredients locally thatn from kits as I had for this one right?
