I will be renting out my garage to anyone who can't get a room.  I think I can fit 30 cots. :)

For those who cold crash beer in a secondary, do you see negative pressure on the airlock to the extend that air is pulled in?

I see this everytime I cold crash.  wheter in the primary or secondary carboy.  This is something I have alway wondered about.  I have always read about people opting to cold crash in the primary then keg or bottle to avoid O2, but I always have a negitave pressure occur and have wondered how that is any different.  That being said, I secondary alot of my beers and have never had an oxidation issue, though I am now doing secondary and cold crashing in the keg.

I added the extract in the secondary of a chocolate coconut porter I made.  It worked pretty well.

This is really a great beer, in my top 5. I have yet to find someone who didn't like it.

6-six gallon, 6-five gallon, 1-six and a half, 2 buckets.

Some times it's too many, some times it's not enough.

Hello everyone,

My name is Troy, and I am 29 years old. I live in Stillwater MN, and have been brewing for 2 years.  Married almost 8 years, have 3 kids, 12, 6, and 4.  I have been at the same job for 15years now (more than half my life :o), I manage a bike shop (pedal not motors).

Brewing and cycling are my main hobbies.  I also belong to the St. Croix River Valley Homebrewers club and I am an AHA member.

Nice to see alot of familar faces here.
