Pimp My System / Corney keg Thermowell
« on: January 16, 2018, 05:44:48 PM »
Ok, here’s my latest project…

I’ve wanted to put a thermowell into a Corney keg to allow me to use my wireless temp controller to control the temps in my kegerator. So I picked up a couple of keg post adapters from Bobby at Brewhardware. I had a spare liquid-out post and a 16″ thermowell.

I took the liquid-out post, and drilled it out to accommodate my digital thermometer probe…

I took one of my corney keg lids, drilled a 1/2″ hole,

and carefully ground the opening until the post just fit,

and silver-soldered the post…

another view…

I just put a standard o-ring on the thermowell, insert it into the modified post, and insert my digital thermometer probe.

If and when I make another one, I’m going to move the post more to the center of the lid.

Equipment and Software / TeensyNet Networked 1-wire controller
« on: April 04, 2014, 04:36:51 PM »
I've developed the TeensyNet networked 1-wire controller.

The TeensyNet can monitor / control up to 36 1-wire devices, including igital thermometers, switches, thermocouples, etc. Multiple TeensyNets can be connected to your local intranet and monitored / controlled by a web interface.

The hardware and software is entirely open source, so you can modify the TeensyNet system to suit your specific needs.

You can find more information at my website

Pimp My System / Networked Temperature Controller
« on: December 29, 2012, 06:50:16 PM »
I've knocked together a Networked Temperature Controller using a Raspberry Pi, a Teensy 3.0 board, an Adafruit Pi Plate, and 1-wire devices that can be used to remotely monitor and control multiple devices. I plan on using this to monitor and control my beer storage coolers, fermentation chambers, and brewstand, but it could also be used for other uses such as brooder temperature control for avian breeders, sous vide, etc. You can see the complete write up at my TeensyPi website. Comments are welcome.
