General Homebrew Discussion / Enjoying a Cigar on Brew Day
« on: May 04, 2012, 01:34:18 AM »
Hangin at the lake, smokin cigars, and brewing a bock beer.

Its a good day

I'm sorry but I can't help myself. I've been shopping for a kegerator and I ran into this by pure chance:

A nice TRUE kegerator with a 10 faucet tower and extra 10 faucet tower for $600. All the faucets appear to be perlick SS faucets.

Considering what I was looking for, this seems like a homerun.  I'm gonna be able to USE this thing.

Beer Travel / Spinning the Beer Wheel at the Bodega in La Crosse Wi
« on: March 15, 2012, 06:16:31 PM »
The Bodega in downtown La Crosse is one of my favorite bars on the planet. They have a lot of good beer  but what i like most is the beer wheel.  Its a bicycle rim that one spins and each spoke corresponds to a beer.

Spin #1:  Chimay
Spin #2:  Dortmunder

I think today is gonna be nice.   Its 77 degrees in March and the beer is flowing.

Spin#3:   we'll see

Beer Travel / Thanks to Phillamb in Paris
« on: March 05, 2012, 04:02:21 PM »
My GF and I met up with phillamb168 in Paris.  He took the time to take us to a unique (for paris) bar called brewberry where we enjoyed some awesome beer and conversation.   When he picked me up, he handed me a bottle of Westvleteren which was quite, and i mean QUITE a treat.

Also had some Cantillon and some others.  All in all, a great diversion.  Thanks phil.

Pimp My System / When an Idea turns into a Laughable Fail
« on: February 17, 2012, 06:26:06 PM »
hahahahahahaha,  sometimes a good idea is destined for failure.  I had this idea to turn some spare parts into a counterflow chiller.  IT was a laughable fail.  At least we enjoyed fine tuning our welding skills.  Onto the next mad brewer project.
