I had some at a homebrewers club meeting last week and have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I love sour beers so it didn't turn me off at first sip. The vinegar was an interesting side note. Guess I will have to make some.

Yeast and Fermentation / I have a fermentation problem
« on: March 12, 2014, 03:15:45 PM »
I made a beer a couple months ago that had me add sugar to the didn't seem to reactivate, not much krausen. I went ahead and carb'd it. Now it tastes real sweet. Now here is my conundrum, I want to add yeast to try to dry it out but since it's carb'd I can decarb it and add yeast but, since there is no o2 in it the yeast won't be happy. I don't want to o2 it because of oxidizing it, what shall I do?

Made this this afternoon and it wasn't until I got completely done that I realized I left out the wheat, dammit. Also it called for dark candi sugar so I found a website that told how to make your own, pretty cool and cheaper than buying it.

my wife picked up a 6 pack of goose island mild winter ale at hy-vee last week and i tried one today, didn't seem to have much flavor , pretty bland. i looked at the freshness date, said it would be fresh 180 days past date on bottle. the date was 10/12 :o they must have pulled it out of the sotreroom from last year. if it weren't 150 miles back to the store i would take it back.
