The Pub / Belgian Independence Day

I had no idea but my local watering hole is doing a nice Belgian themed night on Thursday to commemorate the occasion. 6 or 7 different beers on tap and a couple more in bottles to help set the mood. Anybody have anything similar in their area or doing something on their own?

So I'm trying to plan ahead for the winter's cold and I decided to try my hand at an oatmeal stout. Any hints/tips/advice to pull the style off properly?

Is it possible to pitch too much yeast? I know that not pitching enough can stress the yeast but what about vise versa?

Anybody on here have experience working with Brett Lambicus? I brewed a barley wine this weekend that I would like to add cherry puree and Brett to it. My idea is to add it in a tertiary after it had sat in secondary for a bit, but I've never dealt with it and I'm unsure if this is the right way to add it into the brew.

Hi all, just made my first homebrew yesterday and have a question. Is it possible to overheat my malt extract? I left them in plastic cans in saucepans on high heat for awhile to make them more viscous.
