This double deucer is definitely not a session beer in quantity (9.3%). Share it with a friend. Don't drink alone. People who drink this want to go to bed sooner than later. Nice malty and medium mouthfeel with no bite or astringency. Very malty with just a hint of hop bite and bitterness. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. Aroma has a bit of floral, spicy notes that is a great compliment to the hopping and very inviting. No carmel aroma or flavor.

What time does this plane land in Cleveland?

Beer Recipes / Re: Dunkel Weissen Recipe

This is so cool. My next brew is a dunkelweizen. I want to add a little Vienna, well, maybe replace most of the Munich with Vienna. I love rougejim's recipe, but can 70% wheat really bring out the Munich? I might be more inclined to go with the 50% by law (Germany) wheat and maybe 25% Munich and 25% Vienna. I guess I'm a Vienna junkie. I can see the advantage of ramping up to 70% wheat. It would have all the great characteristics. Looking for input like rougejim.

All Grain Brewing / Re: Your FIRST all grain?

Way, way back in 1996, my first AG was a basic American pale ale. Several years have passed and when I got back into AG last year I brewed an ESB. It's a great first brew for checking your efficiency and if you don't hit the numbers, hell, it's an even greater session beer!

So what have you decided?

Hi everyone, I am new.

Sunday I did a parti-gyle of a doppelbock and a traditional bock. It was my first double decoction and I'm pleased to say I did pretty well. Only a minor scorch on the first decoction. I chilled them overnight and right now I'm getting ready to bubble in some O2 and pitch.
