I dunno which ona yous guys is in charge over'ere, but I'd like ta call for this here guy's extractafication from his duties and replace him with my cousin jimmy, my brotha-law mikey the chin and a few other guys who are friends of mine that we need to be put on the books.

I'm not sayin, i'm just sayin, namsayin?

(I said that outloud in my best jersey+italian accent, btw.)

happy new year everyone!

Have any of you tried Bulleit 95 Rye? While liquor shopping for xmas I saw it on the shelf and since it was only $28, I grabbed a 750 of it. I'm completely blown away with how tasty and smooth it is, it really surprised me.

We had some friends over for Irish Coffees one night and instead of Irish Whiskey I subbed in the Rye and everyone raved about it!

If you haven't tried it, give it a whirl, it might surprise you too!

The Pub / Aged Weather-beaten Bait Table

I recently built two outdoor tables based on a bait table you would find at the end of a dock. I started this project over a year ago when I left all of the 1x4s out in the weather. All of the boards weathered slightly differently and there was a nice variety of colors and warping. A year later, I used them to create the table surface. All of the boards are pressure-treated.

I wanted it to look aged and as vintage as possible so I intentionally made each board slightly longer or shorter than needed by fudging the pencil marks when i was measuring. After randomly placing the different colored boards I used a random-orbit sander to knock off all of the edges and corners. I did this as randomly as possible to make it look naturally worn and not like i used a router.

When I was finished, I took a saw blade and rolled it all over the surface to makes dents and small holes in addition to the claw side of a hammer to rough up the surface.

I'm pretty happy with how they both came out and I'll probably use one of them as an extra work-surface when brewing.

Table dimensions are 60"w x 30"d x 30"h. Both tables are pretty identical so I only took picts of one:

A brewery may not be established or operated in any dwelling house or on board any vessel or boat, or in any building or on any premises where the revenue will be jeopardized or the effective administration of this part will be hindered.

(Sec. 201, Pub. L. 85-859, 72 Stat. 1389, as amended (26 U.S.C. 5402))

My question is about the bold part.

What kind of locations would fall under the "jeopardized" description? What would jeopardize revenue?

By "effective administration…hindered" are they talking about agents having easy access to the location?

I never understood why the Triple Crown was such a big deal until I watched a video about it recently.

Apparently, when mammals exert themselves, lactic acid builds up. Humans can get rid of this acid quickly, but horses take a long time, like 3-5 days. So the three races of the Triple Crown are all well within the rest period. That means the horse that wins all three races never truly recovered from the first race while running the second, and same with the third. Above that, its running against fresh horses that haven't run in weeks.

All of this just makes Secretariat's run that much more amazing.

Just as an aside, I love these guys. Before I found this forum I watched all of their videos and it really helped me out as a beginner, especially their "stepping into all-grain" series. Highly recommended for beginners.
