Homebrew Clubs / Re: Georgia HBC
« on: February 11, 2012, 11:58:45 AM »
I am a member of Hopbreakers in Newnan, We had our first meeting in December. It's a good group.

We have 2 monthly meetings with someone giving a short presentation; and try to have a club brew day once a month if possible. Someone is always brewing soemwhere.  We have all levels of experience, etc. . Its a very enthusiastic club.

Send me an email at mark@stillwoodgroup.com and I can give you more details.

All Grain Brewing / Hogarden clone

I just sampled the brew. It tastes good but has a slight sulfurous smell I can't quite ignore.
Used Wyeast 3944. I fermented at 68 for a week,  then moved it inside where it started off again ( possibly due to higher temp ).
Any idea about the smell and if it will go away

Beer Recipes / Re: Bert Grant's Perfect Porter
« on: May 10, 2011, 03:17:38 PM »
The Bert Grant recipe is in Clone Brews, by Tess and Mark Szamatulske,

Same authors of Beer Captured - my go to recipe book.

All recipes are winners. Haystack Porter in Beer Captured is my #1 porter. Bert Grants is a bit hoppier.
