I'm still waiting on my score sheets from Chicago.  Has anyone received them yet?

Thanks guys.  Just looked at mine.  36 for APA, 38 for American Porter - mini BOS but no ribbon and 41 for Specialty IPA with 1st place.  Very happy with my scores.

Good luck to everyone in the finals.

Has anyone received the post-competition packages that were supposed to be available yesterday?

My  buddy just got an email advising that he did not get in.  Apparently they hit capacity this year.  Really bummed for him.

I was hoping for a lot more.  Thought I would be able to access the recipe database and also the nhc seminars.  Am I doing it wrong?

All Grain Brewing / Re: Using a Keggle

One more thing I would add. The 2-3 gal left in the mash keggle includes some of the converted sugars.  You should compensate for that by bumping up your grain bill. Maybe by as much as 25% for a 5 gal batch

Looking back at his post a little more closely, it doesn't appear that he is unable to drain the last 2 or 3 gallons of fluid but rather that he needs to add 2 or 3 gallons before it gets above the false bottom.  So, assuming he adds the extra strike water, I'm not sure what effect it would have on his efficiency.

I use a domed false bottom from Morebeer which runs about $30 and then have a ss diptube that fits down through it.  However you will always have some dead space with a false bottom that you will need to adjust for.  Also, 2 or 3 gallons of strike water doesn't seem like nearly enough even setting aside the FB issue.  Seems like that would not account for grain absorption.

In Grand Rapids they were given out at the expo by one (or maybe 2) of the vendors.

Events / NHC 2016 and BNA11???

Hey.  I went to NHC 2014 in Grand Rapids and stumbled upon (and out of) The Brewing Network's 9th Anniversary Party (BNA9).  It was a real blast!

I'm wondering if anyone knows if they will be doing a similar party this year in Baltimore.  I have not seen anything on the HomebrewCon website and have not had any luck with general web searches.

I'd appreciate any info you might have.  Thanks.
