60 entries?!?!  :o

Not to derail the thread, but I wanted to ask a question since this thread has the attention of some competition guys....then back to the shotgunning....

Do competition entries have to be original recipes?  If you copy a recipe or use a kit, do you have to keep the name or credit the original brewer, or can you make up your own name since you brewed it?  I guess what I'm asking is....does such a thing as 'beer plagiarizim' (sp?) exist?

I like the shot glass idea...but I might need a tall skinny one to fit through the carboy opening...

As for nuts in my hop sack....I'll leave that alone....making beer not tea  ;)

....I'm dry hopping and the bag won't stay down because I can't find the glass marbles I usually use!!

I got them with a recipe kit a long time ago, but I can't even think of where to start looking for new ones at a store....Toys R Us?

Anything I can use in a pinch?  Trying to think of something I can sanitize and drop in there....

I'm pretty sure you would need to do something rather drastic (illegal) to bring enough attention to yourself that they would actually check out what you have in your house.   I'm fairly certain the beer fuzz aren't snooping at brew shops and monitoring your online orders  :o

If you got caught selling/distributing homebrew and then they find 1000 gallons of brew in your micro-factory....THEN you should be concerned....I think the laws were made to give some teeth to tax laws....not to keep you from making as much beer as you can drink for personal consumption.

BTW, I would think it counts per calendar year...

Been MIA myself for a little bit, good luck with the move Weaz!

I'm not going to buy into the whole bottle vs. can taste contest....drinking straight from a vessel, bottle wins hands down (IMO).....but as mentioned: any of the 'good' beers that we would consider craft beers we would drink from a glass anyways, so i think the argument is moot.  I could give a crap about bottle or can when drinking BL, but bottles taste better....maybe it's just me.

My biggest proponent for cans is portability: fishing, camping, etc...  I think I could muscle down a SN from a can if I had to  ;)  I'll drink from a glass when I'm at home sitting on the back deck regardless of weather it came from a bottle or can.

I HATE taking bottles out on the boat....they break, they clang together (need to be quiet fishing), take up more space when storing empties (cans crush easy)....I would buy cans of craft beer!

I'm sure for smaller brewery operations, purchasing the additional equipment to convert partially to cans is a cost prohibitive capital investment.
