My phone has "per app" location permissions.  I just wish there were a way to click "Do not show again" or something on the notification.

I have the Brew Guru app and enjoy it but I'm not seeing how to turn off the notifications when I'm near a location that offers discounts.  This is a great feature if I'm just out and about but I actually work right next to a brewery and a homebrew store which both offer AHA discounts so my phone is constantly going off when I drive by them.  I've gone into the App settings on my phone and disabled all notification options but I'm still getting them.  I guess I can just turn off the location permission and just turn it back on when I am interested in having it on.  It would be nice if there were a way to say "I'm not interested" or something of the like to make the notification for that particular place not show up again.

Questions about the forum? / Giveaways/freebies to existing members
« on: November 08, 2016, 04:18:38 PM »

Long time member, first time forum poster here.  This discussion was brought about by your recent post on Facebook for your Thanks-giveaway Spectacular noted here:

Some great prizes there.  Unfortunately, they are only available to those who are signing up or renewing their subscriptions.  Those of us who have been faithfully paying our dues yearly are left with nothing.  I also see from time to time other freebies for signing up/renewing like free hops or free books but again the existing members are left out.

The point I'm trying to make here is why isn't there giveaways/freebies for existing members?  Heck, even the forums have frequent giveaways for even non-paying members.  All I'm saying is I'm sure you guys get a ton of schwag and it would be awesome if you were to give some of it away to us existing members.

Sorry, just venting some steam here.  Thanks for listening.

Edit:  Just saw the rules here:  The giveaway is open to everyone.  Sorry for jumping to conclusions.

Here's the e-mail I received from GABF:

Members Entrance
Here's how to get into the festival
You're receiving this message as a Great American Beer Festival (GABF) ticket holder with a ticket(s) that is valid for the Members Entrance. Sweet! Here's how it works.

Access to the Members Entrance is limited to guests holding tickets that read "Members Entrance + FC $0.00."
Enter the Colorado Convention Center through the 14th St. doors (next to the blue bear), follow signs to the Members Entrance near the escalator.
A regular ticket and AHA membership card will not gain entrance in this line. Only Members Entrance tickets will be admitted.
Please show up no earlier than 4:45 pm for the Members Entrance. Doors open at 5:30.
Have your ID and Members Entrance ticket ready to keep the line moving.
If you are attending with friends who do not have Members Entrance tickets, please use the public entrance if you wish to enter the festival together.
If you have Saturday afternoon tickets, use the public entrance at Stout and 14th St.
