I like to look at the brew set ups in "Pimp My System" for the same reason I like to look at restored and tricked out cars at the auto shows, they are interesting and awesome to look at but largely unattainable by most people.

Hi, so the title says it all. Wondering which profile to use. I feel like "Pale Ale" is the obvious choice. Yet I know that the "Burton" style typically lends itself to hoppy, crisp ales.

Here's the recipe:
5-gal est OG1.062

7# 2-row
3# Vienna
1/2# Torrified Wheat

60 min mash at 151

1 oz Citra -60
.5 Cascade -10
.5 Cascade -5
1 oz Cascade -0

Dennys 1450

SO which profile do you think would be best?

So what's the favorite beer you've ever brewed? Just curious is all really.

Mine is an Arrogant Bastard clone that I put together myself, after brewing it over a dozen times, it's spot on. Reason it's my favorite, it's the very first beer that got me into real beer in the first place. And the idea of being able to brew it myself? well, that's why I started brewing.

i see that the pin lock kegs on midwest have PRV's. Is there a way to convert a lid to have a prv?

I think the difference is that ball locks have PRVs that you can open manually by pulling them up.  On pin locks it's more of a safety valve that releases when pressure builds too high.

Of course, since I don't have any pin locks I don't know for certain, but that's what the internets tell me.

I'd personally be wary of drilling through a lid, but I suppose you could rig something.  Wouldn't it be easier just to release pressure on the gas side?

I know that you could just depress the poppet on the gas side, but isn't that a PRV?

Not Necessarily. You can go get a party tub, like the ones they give you for ice with a keg? and keep that handy. 20 lbs of ice and some cool water makes for an effective ice bath for chilling your wort. It's also really effective and cheap to use for a swamp cooler to control fermentation temps. Just fill the tub with cool water to about an inch or so below the wort level in your carboy/fermenting vessel and then you can use frozen (sanitized) water bottles to drop the temp down to where you need it.
