There are pubs all over the place, all you have to do is start walking and you'll find one... they usually have a really good selection of dutch, belgian and english beers in them...

Oh. Maybe you can tell me where I can find English beers? The only beers you can find here are Guinness (Irish) and Murphy's Irish Red (Irish, but brewed by Heineken in Den Bosch (the Netherlands)).

The "winds of change" have been blowing hard for a number of now so I don't see much give on this from Geert Wilders.
Maybe Adrie could give some info from a Dutchman`s point of view.

I could, but I won't because that would be a political discussion. Let's talk about beer here.

Jeff Sparows says in Wild Brews that geuzes should be left on the yeast to get that rubbery autholysis bite, but that Flanders red should lack that taste and smell. So I racked my red after primary and after two months in secondary. Now I let it sit for at least a year, maybe more.

It is a lot of work, but also a joy to pick the cones off my four hop plants. Smelling the wonderful hop aroma's, hmmmm. And afterwards a freezer full of hops. It makes me feel very rich.

The White Horse, named after the oldest known brewery in my former town. It existed from somewhere in the early 1800's until 1880. At that time the owners built a new, modern brewery on another location and renamed the brewery. That brewery bankrupted in the crises of the 1920's.

Although I moved to another town, I kept the name.

The brewery logo is my avatar.

US-05 does give diacetyl with bottle conditioning now and then. As said before: put your beers away warm and it will go away. Sometimes in a couple of days, sometimes in a week or two.

Koningshoeven is owned by the Bavaria Brewery since a couple of years. Things have changed since then. Koningshoeven puts some new beers on the market regularly and I suspect them of using different strains for different (new) beers. With the Witte Trappist that is obvious: in this beer they use a Weizen strain.

An interesting side note is that Chimay once contracted with Konigshoeven to brew their white.  warning that this is complete speculation on my part, but could they be using the Chimay yeast?

No, no. The yeast character of Koningshoeven is very different from that of Chimay. Koningshoeven uses two strains: one for the white (Witte Trappist) and one for their other beers.
