I mainly use dry yeast because it can tolerate summer shipping temps. I don't have many local options for supplies.

Thanks. I've used 1056 a million times but I just bottled a quick extract batch that I made using 05 and all chinook. It was one of the best batches I've tasted flat.

I'm always amazed that other people care what I eat. I'm somewhat finicky and I've always hated most fish. Why this upsets people I do not know. You can have the lobster, I'll take the potato.

So uh anyway... Congrats on the house! We just bought one in May. This is house number thee for us. Turned out to be slightly more of a fixer upper than we thought, but hey, it's only money! Thankfully we're almost done fixing the main problems.

Update on this. Do not let your fermenting beer get to 70/80 degrees if it should be at 65 or so. This batch has a sort of chemical/burnt rubber aftertaste. A sad waste of good Cascade hops. Not super awful but it is now in my secret stash for emergencies only. Maybe a few weeks will help it.
