Given that GABF Tickets went on sale today I am going to bump my thread. It would be great for mods to reply. Maybe I should report my own thread.

Questions about the forum? / Sub forum in the classified for GABF tickets
« on: October 14, 2016, 12:38:27 PM »
Each time this year the Event forum gets clogged up by adverts for GABF tickets. These adverts really should be in the classified forum. However, that forum also gets pretty clogged up with adverts. As such it would be great to have a sub forum for GABF ticket adverts that get wiped clean on 1 Nov.

The sub forum could be strictly for GABF tickets or all tickets. But I think having it just for GABF would be best.

In the mead time would a moderator do some cleanup in the Event forum and nuke all of the GABF ticket adverts.

Events / GABF - limited pours
« on: October 14, 2016, 12:27:05 PM »
For those that attended the GABF I am curious to know your thoughts on the limited pours offered by some breweries. Several breweries were having limited pours at particular times each session. That is they would start serving at 7pm and serve a limited amount on a first come first serve until they ran out. They would do that each session. However, some breweries were only doing it on Saturday afternoon which I do not think is appropriate.

I think it great that breweries are bringing some of their more limited brews for people to sample. But it was pretty disappointing when I saw a particular beer was listed but then when I visited it was for Saturday only. The Saturday session is "supposed" to a members only session but we all know it is really a public session where the winners are announced.

Anyone else get skunked with a Saturday only pour??

Events / Re: I hate ticket sale threads

Can we make just one GABF ticket sale thread?  Or dare I say, go sell them on Homebrewtalk? You'll get a bigger audience.

There is a button called "Report to Moderator" for threads started in this forum to sale or buy tickets  that really should be moved to the classified section. That said, it might be worth while to create a sub forum in the classified forum for GABF tickets so not to clutter that forum as well.

Events / Re: Great American Beer Festival Denver---Presale Tickets

Of course you could always pay $300 plus for tickets already listed on Ebay.  I wish there was a way the AHA could find these people and revoke their membership.

The BA really does not care (it is their event not the AHA). I had some discussions with Gary Glass about this issue a while back suggesting that if the event is for members only then require members to show membership cards. That works for the AHA as we get membership cards but not BA because they do not issue membership cards because they are brewery based. However, one would think that a BA member attending the GABF they could be given a credential. But as I say the BA does not care.

My bines are more than ready for picking and I have more hops than I need so if you are in the Salt Lake City area and want to pick some send me a note to arrange a time to pick. Apres beverages welcome.

I also have hops from last year that I would be happy to share as well. Cascade, Chinook, and Perle.
