Ingredients / Going from 10 gallons to 1BBL
« on: February 10, 2013, 04:26:39 PM »
I will be going to a 1BBL system soon, a precursor to going commercial, in the course of ramping up to that i need some advice on a program or insite on how to ramp up the hops since pro-mash does fine with the grain i dont think locking the recipe and then ramping to 35-38 gallons works on hop additions, seems like way to much hops? true or not? any ideas or ?

All Grain Brewing / Re: Looking for a good AG recipe book

There are more recipes on line than you can shake a stick (or stir Paddle at), look, take, tweek and make your own, then refine it this works for me. Also most of the books are good if you dont take them to heart and do the same read, tweek and make your own.

True, there are a lot of factors that go in to all of this, im trying to go Nano 1BBL, definetly not for the money but more to get started and go from there, even this seem a daunting task some times when it comes to a buisness plan.

Good discussion but i have to dissagree on a 3BBL system costing as much as a 10BBL system , the systems have quite a price gap and that doesnt include the space to put it in, the price of grain etc....., unless im pricing equipment somewhere different.

I got stuck at 1.035 from 1.095, i rehydrated dry as already mentioned and repitched this got me down to 1.016. It freaked me out at first but i didnt want to loose the beer so i gave it a go and it worked. I just tapped the last keg after 13 months and it turned out to be one of the better stouts ive made.
Good luck.
