Going Pro / Re: Six pack can holders
« on: February 17, 2014, 02:09:44 PM »
I can envision a 6-pack can holder that resembles are smaller version of bottle holder but made from a clear material that lets the branding of the cans show thru. If the material was organic and water-soluble (obviously with a good long soak, not just being sprayed with water or beer) that would be an even bigger plus.

Obviously the advantages would be that there would be no printing, it's generic so you never have to adjust production leading to lower costs and reusable until you want to dispose of it.

Just brainstorming.

I love brewing outside, especially when it's cold. Standing at the brew pot in a heavy sweatshirt with a cup of coffee is very zen for me.

I normally only drink single malt and prefer highland/speyside. Anything with smoke/peat turns me off instantly and activates my gag reflex. If I wanted that taste in my mouth I would lick a dirty ashtray. But I digress…

Some of my favorites include:

The Balvenie 12 Double Wood
Glenmorangie Original
Glenmorangie Lasanta (Sherry finish)
Glenmorangie Quinta Ruben (Port finish)
Macallan 12
Glenlivet 12 and 18
Glenfiddich 12 and 18
Singleton of Glendullan 12
McClelland's Highland

I found this handy dandy flavor map useful when I was looking for new ones to try:

I got on site a couple of minutes ago and discovered I was logged on as someone else!  I don't remember the logon name though.  I hit logout and discovered that it said I was currently logged in as myself and that the logout didn't work. (It said an error occurred)

The picture of me below my screen name is also now gone.  And I went to post a reply and it came up with a timeout message (I hadn't been typing a long time), but I just hit 'post' again and it went through.

Everything else seems to be working.

Yesterday I logged in and it showed me as your username. I logged out and back in and i was still logged in as you. I tried it again and it worked but it was really weird.

I saw these pictures of a homemade immersion chiller on another site and the first thing that stuck out were the soldered joints that would be sitting in the boiling wort. Anyone know if that's safe to do? My immediate reaction was "danger wil robinson!" but I wasn't sure.

"Contrary to the common view, beer has lots of health benefits that make it at least as healthy as wine when it’s consumed in small amounts. Moderate consumption can mean as much as three glasses a day, when paired with a healthy diet."

The fascination with football totally eludes me.  Guess that just gives more time to waste in other stuff!

Love football, but the fascination with fantasy football eludes me, i tried it a few times but i just find it boring and annoying.

You are absolutely a brewer and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. They were being elitist dbags, not to make you feel bad about yourself, but to make themselves feel superior. Bullies are everywhere unfortunately, but you don't need to be around them, and quite honestly, they don't deserve the privilege of your company.

I started with a Mr. Beer kit and made some of the crappiest beer on earth, but opening that first bottle when it was done was just as exciting as the last all-grain batch I brewed 13 yrs later.

This forum is the home to some of the most generous, down-to-earth and kindest people you will ever meet and you are more than welcome to be a part of it without judgment or ridicule. In fact, if you didn't immediately notice it, there is a whole forum section dedicated to extract brewing filled with people ready to answer your questions and share your experiences with.

I hope your experience doesn't tarnish your view of the hobby and just know that we are all here for you if you need any help.

Welcome to the family, cheers!
