I did a mild with a good chunk of brown malt, it didn't clear at all and I drank through 10 gallons.  I hate to use the term muddy but that's the best way to describe the clarity.

I know you did a decoction but is there any chance you might have heated too much grain or done something else to have damaged the enzymes to prevent further fermentation?

I think a 5lb tank lasts for 5-6 1/5 barrels is what I read, so 10-12 1/2 barrels=a s*** load of cornies

It could still be the malt, if its from the same shop and they didnt fuss with the mill(it might have moved further apart on its own) but remember that its an agricultural product maybe a bad season, or bad field?

The tart flavor is out front, and if you drink it with the woodruff or raspberry syrup that is even more out front.

So where does one get woodruff syrup (in the US)?

Was just looking for some myself.

Has anyone ever tried to brew with these.
They are edible(actually in survival guides if you are stuck on a beach) and smell wonderful all dried out.  Just need to get therm milled.
