http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PmPrg1pq1x8  Anyone on the forum made one of these? Dogfish has posted the part list and a picture. What I can't understand is what exactly directs the beer into the hop vessel before it goes into the de-foaming vessel?Could the air vents be the answer? I've seen previous versions in action but not the #.0 version. Thanks in advance

All Grain Brewing / Maris Otter

I've read on several threads the recommendation of using a protein rest when a large portion of the grain bill is Maris Otter. Is there a consensus opinion whether this is necessary or not.I love to use it but really have not had great efficiency, not that this number is all that important but hitting target gravities from recipes is harder for me when MO is substituted for 2 row.

All Grain Brewing / Water amendment

My water analysis is as follows: Ca 6, Mg 2, Na 18, SO4 18, Cl11, HCO3 35, T. Hardness 23 , Alkalinity 29 ,RA 23 SO4/Cl Ratio 1.6
  I am going to brew(all grain) an Imp. IPA using 16.5 lbs maris otter and 1lb crystal10(SRM~9.4)In using Bru'n Water I tried to match the Pale Ale profile as closely as possible.I am very new to water amendments so I would really appreciate any input/suggestions about the following water amendment proposal.
Gypsum 1.25( gm/gal)
Epsom .50
CaCl     .25
Chalk    .50
Phosphoric acid .5ml/gal

do i add the dead space volume under the false bottom of my S.S mash tun to the calculated 1.3 qts/lb water needed to mash in
