Target practice with a 30-30...pretty cool seeing them explode!

(and then recycle the cans of course)

Equipment and Software / Re: pH Meter

I've been happy with the Milwaukee ph600 el cheapo ph meter.  I had consistently hit my ph number each time, so I don't even bother checking anymore.   I still keep it around to test out Star San that's been left out to see if it's still good.

When you see this headline:

"NH sale features EKG of Armstrong's moon heartbeat"

and the first thing that comes to mind is East Kent Goldings.

I wouldn't call it rallying, but there are some who comment they will never drink a Sam Adams again because they went to cans.

I'm can't wait for the days where canning is cost effective for homebrewers  ;D

I use this (probably not enough time to worry about making one before you brew):

The bag is the paint strainer bags from Home Depot.

The Pub / Sam Adams Cans
« on: May 03, 2013, 10:18:30 AM »
As we all most likely know, Sam Adams is not available in cans, that's right cans!  Sam Adams posted this on Facebook (I apologize to those who don't use it) and some of the comments are out there.  How do we educate these people or is it a lost cause?

Granted we are a little more versed on the craft beer scene, but people equating them to Budweiser because it's in a can is ridiculous. ::)  I wonder how many of these people drink Heady Topper (not available in bottles, but in cans )

Wow...Worcester to Long Island.  How long before your accent reverts?  ;D

Good luck on finding/starting a club.  I'm a member of a club in Portsmouth, NH that was small when I started but is gaining every month.  There are homebrewers where you are...you just may need to coax them out with some beer.

I think Amanda should expect her region to fill up quickly next year if they decide to do it again.

New York scoresheets . . . Anyone?  :'(
Not yet.  Rumor on another forum says envelopes were being stuffed this past weekend so I expect they were put in the mail yesterday.

    • If we know some regions are a bit slow, why are we still sending our beers to them? Somewhat local and well organized are my requirements for any competition. If I wasn't allowed to enter my beers in KC, I would have picked either Tulsa or St. Paul because I know they can run a great competition.
Amanda, last year my region was Philly and I had my scores back in a few days.  Obviously they are a little busy this year so NYC picked it up.  The year prior was Saratoga Springs, and you can look back at old forum posts on that one.  ::)

I hope Philly decides to do it again next year.  Otherwise you may see my entries heading your way.
