I thought Yoda said that.

Or perhaps Mr. Miyagi?

Yes Yoda.  And that ain't Dumbledore!!!

I am a truly "annoyed" Star Wars, LOTR, and Harry Potter fan.   :D

If NB (who you ordered from) is 'Northern Brewer' then how did you pre-order?  I didn't see any such option & their site says they're out of Simcoe.

I think the pre-orders are all done.  Brewmasters Warehouse had 1 lb wet Simcoe preorders through 8/10/11, although it looks like you can still order from them.

I think drinking this beer tastes like sucking toe fungus off of a frito lays monster.
I'm sorry,  I'm not familiar with that flavor, can you describe it to me?  Just can't seem to find a "frito lays monster" around here.

Mmmmm....Fritos.

My first homebrew...man was that God-Awful!  :P

Zymurgy / Re: 2012 Zymurgy ideas

This was probably already covered ( I'm a few months behind on my reading ) but I would like to see an article on HERMS/RIMS systems and brewing with these systems.

Also, maybe a in depth article on the process of preparing a bid for hosting the NHC, followed by what needs to be done during the actual conference.

Water is a great idea.  I'm eagerly awaiting the water book by John Palmer and Colin Kaminski.

Will that stuff get into your ground water and screw up your brewing?  ;D

Let's hope they get it contained...looks cool but I can imagine it must be really scary.  Especially if you feel the wind shift.

Good luck!

The old logo on a sh irt would get the question - "What is Ah - Ha?".

A really bad pop band from the '80s?

But a classic song video...even the Family Guy did a spinoff of it.  :D

This is from the Lallemand/Danstar site ( the 50% number is thrown around in the homebrewing world, and probably accurate ):

Why is rehydrating the dry yeast before pitching important?

Dry beer yeast needs to be reconstituted in a gentle way. During rehydration the cell membrane undergoes changes which can be lethal to yeast. In order to reconstitute the yeast as gently as possible (and minimize/avoid any damage) yeast producers developed specific rehydration procedures. Although most dry beer yeast will work if pitched directly into wort, it is recommended to follow the rehydration instructions to insure the optimum performance of the yeast.

Monk's Cafe Flemish Sour Red. I'm not into sours really but can usually stomach them, but this one is just gross.

Thank you...I was trying to remember this one but I guess I blocked it out.

Not sure I have any never again beers.  Well, not because it made me sick, but because it's gross: Sam Adam's Cherry Wheat.

lol - I swore this off back when I thought Corona was good beer.

Well it's definately not for everyone but when served on draft, the cherry is a little more subdued.

Funny joke ..."Is that a Pith Helmet?  No, merely condensation" ( you missed a letter in your subject...couldn't resist :)

It really does seem like the secret to the universe is letting go of your anger,

It's statements like this that really piss me off  >:(   ;)

I would have made a terrible Jedi ( but one hell of a sith )

What?  No yeast cells?   ;)
What do you mean no yeast?  There's a cell between the barley and the glass, shown to scale. ;) ;D

Oh...now I see it.  :P

You can also download and listen to the Can You Brew It? episode on The Brewing Network.  Nathan Smith brewed this one for the show and gave some good tips on cloning it.
