Equipment and Software / Re: Blichmann Pump

Wish they came out with a pump head with TC outputs also.

It's not that difficult to add a FPT to TC adapter.
Yeah I know. I have TC fittings on my chugger pumps.

There is a nice YouTube video comparing the March, Chugger, and Riptide.
After watching that video I decided to purchase one from Great Fermentations to replace my SS Chugger pump. Wish they came out with a pump head with TC outputs also.

I started out many years ago after seeing a friend brew beer, and he recommended "The Joy of Homebrewing" book which I read a few times. The thing that I liked about this magazine was that is was up to date, concise, lots of photos and they made it look fun to brew. The way that "Hobby Farms" presented it they also display other avenues that the homebrewer could take the hobby with different ingredients and evening incorporating baking/cooking.  They also supplied references to places like the AHA and other resources for continued research.

They publish a lot of different magazines. This one is a special on brewing beer, it doesn't appear to be a monthly title like BYO or Zymurgy... I've seen their cheese making and gardening magazines too.  They are all very well done magazines.  I purchased my copy @ B&N , but have seen them also at Farm & Fleet  and Tractor Supply as well.

Was out shopping over the weekend and saw this Brewing Beer magazine. I purchased a copy for myself and after spending more time reviewing it I think I going to buy another copy or two to gift to friends that are on the fence about starting homebrewing.  Lots of great articles, brewing and cooking recipes.

However, the overall beer economy is changing because the beer lovers around the world want something more than a light watery fizzy drink, and prefer variety.

I went for a 20gal kettle w/Tri-Clover fittings... It will be interesting to compare against my Blichmann 20 gal. kettles.  I wish Blichmann would have a Tri-clover fitting version of their kettles.

I have one from Stainless Brewing to fit my Blichmann 20 gal. boiler maker kettle.  It is nicely built.

Just received my copy of "Craft Beer for the Homebrewer".   Nicely layout and every recipe looks tasty.

Never met her, but just donated $25 to her fundraiser.  My heart goes out to her & her husband.

Any Zymurgist is good in my book.

I would encourage you to take a look at the BCS-460 and BCS-462 fromwww.embeddedcontrolconcepts.com...  Using a web browser and the BCS you can control the temps of your vessels and RIMS/HERMS equipment.  I've been using it for 3 years and it is setup for RIMS... and it can also be used to control your lager chamber or freezer full of kegs.

When I started brewing 6 years ago I was using 5 & 10 gal. Orange coolers, then decided to move up to Blichmann 20 gal kettles for my Mashtun, HLT and Boil Kettles.  If I would have waited a little longer I would probably have purchased kettles from Brewers Hardware instead because I use alot of Tri-Clover fittings in my setup ... http://www.homebrewersassociation.org/pages/community/pimp-my-system/show?title=pimp-my-system-ale-force-1

I have a friend who purchased kettles from Stout Tanks and is happy with his purchase.

You could also use a bucket heater http://morebeer.com/ct/?idx=1500723&i=28584&u=/products/electric-heater-1000w.html in your mashtun - of course hooked up to something like a Johnson controller and use your pump to recirculate...  The bucket heater can get a bit messy - especially compared to using a RIMS module which is much easier to clean.
