Kegging and Bottling / Re: Bottle Fill Line

Actually, for filling bottles from a keg, I prefer a high fill.

And no worries, no points are affected.

Just don't ask Gordon how to use a sulfur stick!

66 entries in Denver.  I had to re-login, then 503d again.
Ouch this is painful.

I got registered on the Denver site but somehow it lost all my info. I can login but all the info (Name, address, etc) is blank and when I select "add entries" it takes be back to the login. Also, when I click "Edit info" I get a blank page.

Did this happen to anyone else?
Happened to me the first time, but now just the dreaded 503.
At first it said that one entry had been added to Denver, but now 0.
Good luck.  Entering an Old Ale? ; )  I am.

How does it taste?  I like my RIS f.g. in the low 30's.

Have you made this recipe before?  What f.g. were you expecting?

Yeast and Fermentation / Re: Diacetyl
« on: February 22, 2013, 05:33:45 PM »
Lagers need a shipload of yeast.  I use Mr. Malty's yeast calculator at http://www.mrmalty.com/calc/calc.html

You could also add a fresh starter of lager yeast to the fermenter to remove the diacetyl if the other methods don't work.

I've been using a welder's O2 tank for years.

+1 on the drill.  I use a 1/2" corded drill and it works like a charm.

And it is all set up with lots of sterols.  Dry yeast may need less O2 than liquid.

Don't forget the cheesesteaks.
