OR / Eugene OR - Learn to Homebrew Day at Oakshire Brewing
« on: September 12, 2011, 10:44:35 AM »
Learn to Homebrew Day was established by the American Homebrewers Association (AHA) in 1999 to enable people interested in beer and homebrewing to learn how to brew. Learn to Homebrew Day occurs annually on the first Saturday in November, when homebrewers around the world are encouraged to learn how to brew or teach someone how to brew.  This year, on Saturday Nov. 5 from 9 AM until 5 PM, members of the Cascade Brewers Society will be demonstrating homebrewing techniques and equipment at Oakshire Brewing, 1055 Madera St. in Eugene.  Oakshire beers and Cornucopia sandwiches will be available for purchase and there will be live music.  For more information about Learn to Homebrew Day and how to begin brewing, visit the AHA website at  For more information about the local event, contact Denny Conn from the Cascade Brewers Society ( or Eriel Hoffmeier at Oakshire Brewing <>.

General Homebrew Discussion / Ask the Experts - Patrick Rue
« on: August 03, 2011, 08:43:22 AM »
Patrick Rue started homebrewing in 2003 during his first year of law school, which ignited a passion for great beer and the creative process of brewing. He followed his passion and founded The Bruery, which began production in 2008. Celebrating it's third year in business, Patrick's role at The Bruery has changed from doing just about everything to managing a company of 35 talented individuals. Recent accomplishments include opening The Bruery Provisions, a craft beer, wine and cheese store/tasting room in Old Towne Orange. The Bruery is distributed in 21 states and 4 countries. The Bruery strives to be a leading creative force in the craft brewing world.  From now until Aug. 14, Patrick will be taking questions on how a homebrewer goes about opening a brewery and moving into the world of commercial brewing.  If you'd like to ask him a question, please email it to .  Answers will be posted sometime around Aug. 22-24st.
