Homebrew Clubs / Club Connection e-newsletter has launched!
« on: January 12, 2017, 05:02:48 PM »
Hi all -

The AHA Clubs Subcommittee recently launched our new Clubs Connection e-newsletter. This will hit your club's registered e-mail address every 6-8 weeks with content focused on helping your club officer's grow membership and participation in your homebrew club. Each letter will also have suggested homebrewing topics for your next club's meeting.

This newsletter was launched in November, and the second edition was mailed earlier this week. If your club officer did not receive it, we urge you to update your club's contact information using the link below:

https://www.homebrewersassociation.org/community/clubs/club-updates-form/?utm_source=Informz&utm_medium=Email&utm_campaign=Default&_zs=c9vvA1&_zl=wB7W3

Thanks!

Where are you opening the brewery? They'll likely ask you why you decided to open it in [city].

Just a reminder - the deadline to submit proposals is this coming Monday, Nov. 28!

Hi all - thanks for the input on this... And apologies on the delayed response. I'm sorry to hear that some of the locations in Asheville aren't honoring the discount. If they are listed in Brew Guru, or in the online directory - then they ARE participating. I'll look into New Belgium.

Unfortunately - as has been mentioned in this thread - we run into a problem in many restaurants or taprooms that have a high turn-over rate. Sometimes the discount just isn't part of the training protocol - though we encourage every business to make it so. It is a rare occasion where a business actually has stopped doing the discount but has failed to inform us.

As always - if you find a place that says they are not honoring the discount - please email me at Matt@BrewersAssociation.org or Steve Parr at Steve@BrewersAssociation.org. One of us will follow up with our contact there and make sure that it won't happen again.

So sorry for the inconvenience!

With the holiday season quickly approaching - the AHA wants to help elevate your Thanksgiving dinner or Christmas dinner... (or even your post-Halloween leftover candy binge) by teaching you about how to pair beer and food!

CraftBeer.com Director Julia Herz will join me in the next Zymurgy Live for an interactive conversation on the state of craft beer, why understanding the beer marketplace is critical in pairing, and how you can pair your beer to fit into your holiday meals. Come prepared with a sour beer & a pickle, as well as some blue cheese & an American IPA for a pairing exercise.

We'd like to answer your questions about anything from the craft beer industry to beer tasting and pairing. So submit your questions here ahead of time, and we'll answer them in the live webinar!

Tune in next Thursday, November 10 at 7pm ET, 6pm CT!

Thanks, all!

General Homebrew Discussion / Re: Have you downloaded the new Brew Guru app?
« on: September 09, 2016, 08:50:34 AM »
I like it so far. One issue I have seen is bad or out of date data on the map. One instance is a brewery that no longer exists and another is correct address but bad placement. Adding a workflow to report these issues in app would be helpful

Thanks for the tip! With so many participants in the program - it can be challenging to stay up-to-date on every Member Deal. Which breweries are you referring to? I'll take a look at them and update accordingly. Thanks!

Howdy Forumites!

Our next Zymurgy Live webinar will be this Wednesday at 7pm MT, 6pm CT. We're really excited to be sitting down with renowned beer expert and author, Randy Mosher, to talk about Tasting Beer. Space is limited and spots are filling quickly, so be sure to RSVP as soon as possible!

If you have any questions you would like to post here in advance for Randy to cover in the presentation - please do so!

See you all on Wednesday!

Hi All -

If you live in the Pittsburgh, PA area and received an email recently from the AHA announcing the addition of EJ Phair Brewing Co Taproom & Pizzeria as a new AHA Member Deal and you were a little bit confused... That's because EJ Phair Brewing Co is in Pittsburgh, CA. Obviously, I made a typo - and I apologize for any confusion.

However, we do have lots of great new member deals in the Pittsburgh, PA area! Check them all out here:

Any thoughts on enabling household memberships for international members? Wasn't able to get it working for my wife last year so I just got her a digital membership separate from mine.

Yes! That will soon be a reality with our new membership portal, which will be launched in the coming weeks. Thanks!

For future webinars, we will also post a downloadable PDF file with any follow up questions (if applicable). For this one, we were able to cover all questions in the allotted time.

Hi all -

We had to do a re-recording of our first Zymurgy Live webinar from May 24. I apologize for the delayed posting, but our first webinar - Brewing Local With Stan Hieronymus - is now posted to the Zymurgy Live archives:

https://www.homebrewersassociation.org/archived-zymurgy-live/brewing-local-stan-hieronymus/

You can download just the powerpoint to view at your own pace, or you can follow the audio recording with the slides by following the appropriate links.

If you have not done so already, you will likely need to install a WebEx plug-in to your internet browser. This will be a one-time download and should take less than one minute (if that). You will not have to download it again to access other archived or live webinars.

Please let me know if you have any questions! Thanks!

Cheers,
