General Homebrew Discussion / Re: AHA Recipe WIKI broken?

We're still working on it. We ended up running into some unexpected issues, so it likely will not be going back up until next business week. I will keep this thread updated.

Thank you for your patience as we get this sorted out!

Randy also gave a talk during the 2015 National Homebrewers Conference on these sorts of myths. AHA Members have access to the audio and power point presentation. It's the first seminar under 2015.

Thanks for pointing this out. We recently decommissioned the Homebrew CLub Wiki since a very small amount of people use it every year, and it looks like it took the Homebrewopedia down with it.

I'll talk to our webmaster about the Homebrewopedia Wiki since as of now that should still be up.

The Pub / Re: Beer Trivia Quiz, AHA main page.

I got 4/5. Missed the Geo. Washington question.

It was incorrectly published in The Oxford Companion to Beer that Washington's small beer was written in his journal in 1737. The thing about that is it would've meant he was only 5 years old at the time... It was supposed to be 1757, and we've since made that change to the quiz.

Thanks for taking it everyone! If you have a topic you think would make for a cool Tuesday Beer Trivia quiz in the future, I'm all ears!

Check out this video of Miami Heat's Chris Bosh and Dogfish Head founder Sam Calagione touring LA while homebrewing a stout in the back of their stretch limo.

It got me thinking... what other athletes or "celebrities" out there are also homebrewers? Here are a few I know off the top of my head:
  • Jared Veldheer (Arizona Cardinals)
  • Wil Wheaton (Stand By Me, Start Trek)
  • Aisha Tyler (voice of 'Lana' from the animated show Archer)

The American Homebrewers Association (AHA) Governing Committee is soliciting nominations for two opening seats in 2016. Governing Committee positions are held for three-year terms.

If you, or someone you know, would be a good fit in helping shape the American Homebrewers Association, please let us know by following the link below. Nominations are due by November 30, 2015.

I've seen people rig up exhaust hoods, like you might have over your stove top, to push steam outside.

I have the same issue in my house in the winter. I usually open the windows, set up some fans, and put on a jacket since my house is about to be freezing  8)

Thanks for the update, Crispy! We'll get this info spread around on the website and social media.

Very sad, indeed, Jim.

Gary Glass also had a few words to share about Byron and his influence on the beer and brewing communities:
