Edit: Deleted. I see Fred's thread about what would make the site better and will post there. To the OP: I agree! Thanks for that.

Going Pro / Re: Guide to Starting Your Own Brewery (2nd Edition)

Currently reading this and wanted to share just my initial impression. Dick Cantwell just may be the best writer, writing about beer that I have come across. His writing style and talent leaves all others I have read in the dust. He manages to make the Guide to Starting Your Own Brewery read like a thoughtful novel at times and a memoir at others. The information isn't laid out in a this is the way to do it sense, it is presented in a manner to evoke thought and contemplation of your own; to take and apply how you see fit.

Yeast and Fermentation / Re: Yeast producing a 'peachy' flavor?

I think S-05 has a faint peach aroma for a clean strain.

Agreed

What temp are you guys fermenting at to get the peach?

Zymurgy / Re: Awesome magazine

You know, I posted in another thread my frustrations with the price of the Guide To Starting A Brewery, but I have to admit, so far two articles from the magazine have absolutley blown my mind. The article describing yeast pitching rates and ester production and the Hop Flavor and Aroma article have really brought me back down to earth and I am grateful for this magazine!

Does anyone know if this is the same item that is available pre-order on Amazon?

It is and it's actually available for substantially less. (55$) Also, if you have amazon prime, free shipping.  Great deal on a book that's MSRP is 90$

I tried to stomach this and tell myself that "Oh well, it's for an organization I support" but this really chaps my ass. I bought through brewers publications for the discounted price of 70$ due to my AHA membership, and to think I could have just bought it through amazon for 55 pisses me off. I am really beginning to wonder if my dues are worth it.
