Do the x-tra tuff boots have good arch support?  They look nice, but I wonder about all day on a cement floor????
With a nice pair of insoles yes.

The non us ones are still good.  Just don't last as long.

I have tried quite a few American and Belgian sours. As well as Brett beers. I keep trying to figure out what the appeal is. I think as a former winery worker, I have a very strong aversion to Brett and sour beers just seem weird to me.

Crack of dawn, sun just coming over the mountains and filtering early morning light through the trees. Cup of steaming coffee in my hand and the roar of the burner in my ears. The grainy, cereal smell of the mash as I dough in. And the grassy, floral aroma as soon as I add the first charge of hops.

I think most of what they put out is very good for the price. I think rebel is fine.  Nothing compared to real West coast IPAs.  Boston Lager is always a great fallback and their mixed 12 packs are great purchases for parties. Sort of the same for Sierra Nevada and New Belgium or Craft Brew Alliance for me.

I had some soapiness in an ipa with a blend of New Zealand hops. I think I settled on it being an interaction between the hops. Mine might have been the one Mort was talking about.

I do like Steve.  First thing I do is boil the bottling sugar then it cools as I sanitize and get everything else in position.  By the time I'm racking the beer it's been 10-15 minutes

I think that you should calibrate with your regular brewing water ( tap, well,  ro,  distilled) since we aren't really interested in true sg but in the contribution of our extract over the initial sg of our water right?

For my first Father's Day in 2011 my wife and her friend bought myself and her husband a deal at the local on premises place.  We brewed there and had a lot of fun despite poor instruction.  They lost our batch (a common occurrence at this place) we ended up reading a few books each and rebrewed there a few weeks later.  Being a scientist (me) and an engineer (my buddy Ryan) we were not content with the recipes they had available.  We put together our own recipe and went back.  We were pleased with the results and decided to get setup at home.  I spent the next 6 months reading like crazy and got my first equipment for Christmas 2011. I brewed my first 5 gal batch on new year's day 2012. Just brewed batch 51 at home plus a few more at friends houses and the local brewery.  Ryan started doing 1 gallon batches about the same time and just jumped to 10 gal a few weeks ago.

Our wives say it was the most expensive father's day present ever.
