Equipment and Software / Kegerator Thermostat Help (Adjustment Screw)
« on: February 18, 2013, 07:21:08 AM »
Hi. I am interested in starting to keg and building a kegerator. I see HD has GE 7.0 cu chest freezer. Will this be sufficient to put two or three cornys and the c02 inside?  I live in an apartment. If I put this in the dining room on a rug, will that be a problem?  Wasn't sure if anything leaks or excretes from the bottom staining the rug. Any input is appreciated.   Dan

I have only bottled so far but recently bought a keg and need to get all the other things necessary to keg my batch.
The real obstacle is getting a fridge to fit my keg AND fit into my apartment.
One of the things I do like about bottling is that I get my daughters involved helping me with the process making it a Family effort!

Very Nice !
Love the beam with lighting.  Nice touch !

I hope to buy a house here in Va soon and spread out. And projects like yours show me some of the possibilities.
Thanks,
Dan

Sort of related question about light affecting beer.

I have some bottled beer sitting on a bakers rack near a window.  The blinds are always closed and sheer curtains always drawn. And this beer has already been weeks in the bottle. ( brown bottles)
 Can Light affect the bottles?

Thanks,
Dan

Thanks Patriot and Gary for a rather in depth explanation. :)

Have you ever heard of any cases where someone was prosecuted for exceeding the limits or transporting ?

I would guess it would be hard to enforce the maximum allowable limits.  If your Posting all your batches made on facebook and other places may be one way to tell if your exceeding your limits. And one may want to pay cash for kits and ingredients every now and then as to not create a paper trail.

Again, thanks for the information.
