I liked the Hennepin and thought the Abbey was pretty good too. I was pleasantly surprised with their Witte. They are a first class operation AFAIAC.

I know some of you purge with CO2 to prevent oxidation when filling - could that be it?

My bet is on it just being able to 'hold pressure' though.

or both...pressure check and CO2 purge.

I know Carafa can be purchased dehusked, but I'm not sure about Pils. Then there's acid dehusked malt. If Trumer is  producing beer with naked malt, then it is probably commercially available. The question still remains...will it make a difference?

I was gonna say - I don't like going to the dentist - but it sure beats a mouth full of false teeth!
It depends on your situation. My teeth (gums, actually) had deteriorated so badly that there was only one place in my mouth where I could chew -- along with constant pain. I had gum disease all my life and brushing my teeth only made it worse. So, in one sitting, I had 22 remaining teeth removed, and replaced with full dentures. My gum disease is history. I can eat anything in any place in my mouth. The yellow teeth I used to expose when smiling are now perfect, white, natural looking teeth. In retrospect, it was the best thing I ever did. Plus, my general health from ridding my body of all that infection has increased amazingly – gum disease promotes heart disease. OK – would I rather have a mouth full of my own healthy teeth – of course I would, but the option I chose in my circumstances literally changed my life for the better.

Sometimes it's a real b**** getting old.  ;D


Do you think it was hereditary in your case.

I dont refrigerate it and we keep it around for about 6 months to a year, although I am sure refrigeration wouldn't hurt. Great stuff! It will add great flavor to all kinds of dishes. Try putting a little in Marsala sauce. Trust me. ;) I usually get the medium sweet it is the one with the green label.

I'm just thinking about where those tongues were before they were on your cutting board.  :o  :D

I recently had the Thirteenth Anniversary Celebration Stone Beer (red dragon/devil logo), which is like an Imperial Amber Ale. It was really good. A more balanced beer as opposed to the sharp hoppiness of their IPA. I enjoy their IPA as well.

Yep, last Sun.  It went smoothly.  I was aiming for 5.5 gal. of 1.054 and got 6 gal. of 1.057.
