Well, sorry everyone!  I must admit, I did Photoshop Miley out of there.  But, I am still calling it Wreckin' Ball IPA!

Equipment and Software / Re: Haze in carboy

I always noticed a haze, so to speak, on the inside of my kegs when letting Oxiclean stand in them too long.  I can't say there was taste or flavor problem.  I just didn't like it.  So, when cleaning my kegs with it still, I never let it sit for any appreciable time.

In cold northern Utah, a 5.5 gallon batch from post whirlpool temp to pitching temp of 64 degrees is 15 to 20 minutes.

A couple of degrees per day.  Not to fast to crash the remaining yeast.  We want them to do their thing while lagering.

Kegging and Bottling / Re: Keg hops - Pellets
« on: December 02, 2013, 01:56:59 PM »
I always dry hop in the keg.  Pellets only.  I leave in until through dispensing.  I have never had a problem with debris except when I used Sherwin-Williams one quart paint straining bags.  The weave would slip and let out debris.  I was unhappy.  And, no off flavors for the amount of time in.

Okay, I agree with repo on the pale ale numbers.  Your pH is in range.  Do your final numbers look within repo range?

So Jim, what does your spreadsheet tell you the estimated mash pH is and the estimated sparge pH?  If your pH is in range, it should be taking care of your bicarbonates
