The Pub / My first beer fest.
« on: June 02, 2010, 09:52:46 PM »
So far, having a great timie here in Idaho. Had a awesome long weekend of camping last weekend. And this weekend I will be going to my first beerfest. The Mountain Man Brewers Fest, in in Twin Falls, Idaho. Twenty bucks gets you unlimited 3oz pours. There are 80+ brewers going to be there. That means bare minimum of 17 pints. With that said, any pointers for me and my best friend liver to survive it? I do plan to carbo load on vitamin B.

And not the fart kind, either. Going on my first mountain camping trip next weekend. I scored a dutch oven at a garage sale for 2$. I was hoping someone could give me som great ideas for making breakfast in this thing. (bacon not mandatory, but encouraged  ;D)

The Pub / Great new place, same great Weaze.

Well, I made it. As of 3:00 p.m. Mountain time, I'm an Idaho resident. It was a heck of a 4 day trip out here, but we made it in piece. The next couple weeks, I'll be getting the mancave / brewery finished. Next week, I take a semi out to Ohio to get all our stuff, and in early July, I fly back to Ohio to work at the sheet metal shop for a couple weeks.
Can't wait to get the brewery running again. Been a while since I've brewed. Decided to change the name of the brewery too. From "Three Taverns" to "Rocky Mountain Buckeye".
I'll try an post some pics of the place, and my mancave in the works. And, if any of you are even near Pocatello, Idaho, look me up.

Anyone else get their new BYO? Got mine today. It has a recipe for BACON PORTER!!!!!!! I read it standing on my front porch. I squealed like a  little girl, and know every neighbor for 3 houses away heard me.
Long story short, I have my first brew planned for Idaho!!  ;D

The Pub / Three Taverns no more.

It was a sad day today. I dismantled the brewery, for moving. We'll be out of here in three weeks, and I have no idea when I will get to brew again. So, with two half full kegs, a mash paddle, and a 16.25 gallon kettle, I bid Ohio farewell.
I'm thinking the computers will be down soon, so if I am not heard from for a while, it's been a real treat, my brothers. I'll see you all out west, in the Gem State. (a few of you have my cell #, feel free to call or text, and let everyone know I'm still alive and pantless.)

     This is Weazletoe, signing off.

The Pub / Will it kill my truck? (now with pics)

Four weeks till I'm Idaho bound. I heard it's state law there you have to have a camper. So, I got a STEAL on a 21ft Prowler. Only 1500$. It's in great shape. Thing is, i'm wondering if either of my trucks are up to lugging it up the Rockies. I have a 97' Silverado with a 4.3, and Holly has a 08' Trailblazer with a V6. I'm not really worried about tearing the bumper out of them, I'm more concerned if the motor / transmission will be up to it. What do ya'll think? I'd sure had to kill the Weaze-mobile somewhere in Wyoming.

Here she is boys. Will be pulling with the Trailblazer though. Not my truck.

The Pub / Hitting the books.

In getting to move to Idaho, I decided I should get my CFC license. Worked with the stuff for 15 years now, but never had my green card. Took the practice test today. Before studying, I got 58% of 272 questions. So, hopefully a week or two of studying, I'll pass. Now I realized why I was ome schooled, and graduated early. I HATE books!!!

EDIT : title of topic changed, o sound less gay.  :-[

General Homebrew Discussion / Beer to move with.
« on: March 02, 2010, 07:23:57 PM »
Gotta be out of our house by May 1st. I have three empty kegs, and my blow number four fairly soon. I would like to have full kegs to take to Idaho with me, as it may be a while before I get to brew out there. Any suggestions on a couple good beers that will finish and be kegable by then, travel well, and enjoyed by the masses? I have a whole slew of beer drinkers lined up excited to try mine.

The Pub / Resume?
« on: March 01, 2010, 06:35:43 PM »
Looks like I will be in Idaho the first week of  May. I need to start getting some resumes out. How far back in my employment do I need to go? I have had a LOT of jobs. I was thinking of using my last two, maybe three. That would be about 10 years of history. sound reasonable?

House finally sold. The buyer wants us out in 30 days, but we are working on that. Not like we're moving cross town. My buddy who is a truck driver said he would move us when the time came. Well, his ruck is in the shop now, dropping a new engine. As of now, we are trying to scramble some more coin to hire movers. Sure would make things easier. If I drop off he board for a while, you'll all know why. See you suckers in Idaho! (or am I the sucker? LOL)

Ok, so not 100%, but things look real good that once I make it to Idaho, I'll have a job a Portneuf Valley Brewing. Sent some e-mails to the brew misstress, told my story, and begged. She said she would really like to meet me and talk when I get there, and in the meantime, send some samples to her. Cross your fingers for me!

So, I started a diet program yesterday. six meals a day, smaller portions, a protein and a carb. Drinking tons of water. ONe gallon plus per day. I'm hitting the tread mill, and weights. I started at 235, and My goal is 215. I'm happy to say, I've already lost 4.5#. I know a lot is water weight, but it's still cool to say I lost 4.5lbs.
Cool thing is, the plan I'm doing gives you a "free day". So, Sundays I can go nuts, and even hit the taps. Wish me best, my brewers.  8)

Had a bomber of it tonight. I was just not really feeling it. I could taste to much alcohol, it was to carmelie, and nor hoppy enough. But, that's just one losers opinion.
