My Promash is sitting in Idaho. Gonna have to break down and buy it again. Loved that software. There are some nice Android apps though.

Equipment and Software / Flow meter
« on: July 13, 2016, 09:32:04 PM »
As I'm building the control box for my electric brew system, I'm thinking of adding a flow meter. My plan is to use a couple of wifi thermostats and series of relays and contactors so that I can begin brewing from my phone an hour or two before I even get home from work. Once I get it wired in, with a couple of taps on my phone and the solenoid wired into the flow meter opens to allow my strike water to fill my HLT. I have not sourced it yet, but I know it has to exist somewhere, I'll a wet switch set just and inch or so above my heating element. as soon as that trips, the element turns on and begins heating the strike water and then when the preset amount has passed the flow meter, the solenoid closes. So, by the time I get home, my strike water will be heated and ready for doe in.
depending how long it takes to heat, I will have the same set up wired into another kettle set to come on a half hour or so after my strike water. So, by the time I get home, doe in, and do a 60 min mash, my sparge water will be ready. All from just a few taps on my phone.
  Questions? Comments? Rude remarks?
This is the flow meter I'm looking at.

Pimp My System / Electric build begins tonight!
« on: July 09, 2016, 03:12:47 PM »
We sold our house and bought a condo. With that, I'm upgrading to electric. The build begins tonight. Obviously I'll need a lot more than what's pictured here, but its a good $150 start! The Weaze will be back soon!

Got to work on the new brewery today. I don't have access to the metal shop anymore so I'm going wood this time. Obviously not finished but notice the catwalk. That's right. I said catwalk!!

Thanks guys. I know it's all cheap stuff, and my LHBS has it all. I just figured I would ask here, as I thought someone may have some stuff lying around they would like to make a few bucks off of.

Euge, I might take you up on those faucets, but I insist on giving you something for them. PM me your price.

I'm in the process of rebuilding my brewery. I have most of the big things covered, but need some little odds and ends. Figure before I run out and buy new I would check here and see if any of you have some extra stuff on hand you'd like to make a few bucks off of.
I'm needing all the little things... hydrometer, theif, capper, racking cane. All the little stuff. If you have anything lying around you think I might need let me know and shoot me a price.
 Much appreciaed!!

And finally a pic of my wife cause I think she's  really hot and I'm proud.

Looking at buying new brew gear and checking out coolers. I see Igloo has a new 55qt black and red one out. Anyone have experience with a black tun? What efficiencies are you getting using black over blue? Denny?

I wouldn't think the outside color makes any different.

You're new here, aren't you?  ;D

All Things Food / Re: Sausage Slicer - need help

This is one of the tools I sell. It's 12volt comes with a battery and charger. It has a 5 year warranty and  year on the battery. My Milwaukee rep was just in a week ago  Friday and we were talking about it. I expressed my obvious safety concerns and according to him "If it'll cut a pipe, it'll cut a d!€k"
So, I can only assume it would slice a sausage just fine. I can make you deal on one.
