I recently brined a large chicken in a solution that included 2 quarts of red ale, then roasted it.  Fantastic!  Should work well with any game bird.

I always enjoy brined meat. I will have to do that.

i just got my hunters license. right now i have one for small game and fishing and plan on getting into big game. my question to you would be, what are your favorite beers to pair with your game, and what are your favorite recipes?

i prefer my homebrew, but i like trying new beers and getting an idea of what i want to brew next. or if i have a recipe in mind, i like to hunt down a similar beer and try it before i buy anything for it.

Extract/Partial Mash Brewing / strawberry milk chocolate stout
« on: March 20, 2014, 01:06:46 PM »
Hey guys. so I did a strawberry Milk chocolate stout, partial mash, and i used 3 lbs of strawberries. i froze them before hand, then i added them to the boil at the last 15 minutes. they are now sitting in the primary. i didnt taste much strawberry when i tasted the wort, and i was wondering if the flavor is going to be more prominate from sitting in the primary or am i going to have to add extract? my goal is to avoid extract if i can. i believe extract flavors taste weird or can be over powering.

« on: January 30, 2014, 04:22:47 PM »
anyone in the lakewood or littleton, colorado area know of any bottle exchanges or wants to start one up? i have a friend who is starting to get into the beer world with me and i have heard of bottle exchanges. I know that it is a good way to try new beers and meet new people. Any thoughts? (if you follow me on other sites and saw these posts already, i apologize)

Beer Recipes / apricot beer?

i was looking into brewing an apricot beer, but i tried one from Pyramid and it was really perfumy.  is there a way to make it so its not so over powering and taste like perfume? i want the flavor, the sweetness, but i dont want it to kick me in the mouth with floral. any good recipes out there or am i reaching?

I have had the Emril collection for almost 10 years now and it works great for me.  I also like that diamond plated stuff for skillets. I dont think these are too expensive (all gifts) but they have lasted me quite some time and still sturdy.
