In sitting here, dumbfounded. I don't know what to say. I didn't have high expectations but I didn't think it'd be this bad. The giants are 0 and 4 and I am beside myself. I'm looking to jets fans, browns fans, heck even jaguar fans. How's the best way to deal with such times?

I have read that 100 ibus is kind of the threshold for bitterness, that the palate cannot tell if a beer is 100 or higher. Please correct me if I am wrong. Anyway, has anyone done a study on the flavor side of the equation? If someone through in a lb of flavor hops, they couldn't tell if there was more after that. Making up the amount here.

Sorry to hijack, kind. I too would like to know the cost per pint.

I'm thinking about this hop schedule... all additions to be Zythos...

FWH - 3 oz
60 min - 3 oz
0 min - 5 oz
Dry hop - 5 oz

I'm not sure what the IBUs end up being and really not concerned.

Assuming a one gallon batch?

Have you tried s-05 with English hops, specificaly ekg? I personally do not like how they play together. If you have tried it and like it then go for it.

When you do second runnings, I'm assuming if you boil a gallon to a quart, you make up the other three quarts in second runnings? I've also always wanted to do this but there was always one other beer I'd want to brew more...whenever I brew.

I think the bigger story is that this guy's fav beer is yuengling. Having gone to school in PA, I drank a lot of the ling. I don't get the continuous appeal.
