Kegging and Bottling / Re: pressure question

I make it a point to have the beer carbed to the level I want before disconnecting to store for an extended period of time. If you have it carbed like you say and then top off to 10psi it all really depends on what level of carbonation your beer is set at. Highly carbed beers wont absorb more CO2 but lightly carbed beers will. I like being able to connect, chill and serve.

I learned this after I had a beer toped off to 20 psi (just in case state of mind) and I did not label it as such. Connected it to my gas out at 6-8 psi and flooded the regulator(full keg that had the gas line just below the bev line). The regulator got a thorough cleaning, and a check valve was added.

Nice, I always wondered about those. Any contamination from the CO2 source. I have seen the Blue Rhino CO2
exchange program at the orange box and walmart and it seems that they use both types of portable CO2 bottles for
either construction or paintball. I particularly wonder about the threat of oil or other lubricants...

Questions, the tub with the wort in it. What part of the process are you in? and how does using the rubbermaid tub help. Is it because of the size of your batch?

I use a home made 50' 3/8" double coil.

My mom bought this for my birthday the year I started brewing and I still use it to this day.*GB7H81&p_id=9002&xm=on&ppinc=dave2full
Funny thing was she gave it to me when I stopped over in Orlando for a flight to Key West. I travelled on flights to and from Key West with this in my bags. Wonder if the TSA would let me do that today!

Not much, if you talk to them about it you may make some new friends in the process. I have traveled with 6 pin locks and a friend of my did the same with a chiller, and a bunch of kegging hardware. It is kind of fun to see them panic a bit when they see all that metal. But show and explain, they are chill out. <-pun intended...

I am ever so happy to see this category. I love travel and have made it a point to travel
to as many AHA rallies as I can. I missed the Surley Brewing rally. But have many
under my belt.

Some of my AHA rallies,
Boston Brewing, MA
Stone Brewing, CA
Ska Brewing, CO
Lefthand Brewing, CO
New Belgium, CO

Funny thing is I am closer to Stone than Boston and I had to spend the night in San Diego
while Boston was a day trip!

I cannot wait to share more stories and read others.

Cheers.   ;D
