The Pub / Re: Running - What have I gotten myself into?

gmac go for it. 1 buy running shoes from a running store that will watch how your feet land. They told me to use a different shoe and knees and feet felt better after first run. 2 Find a person to run, walk and train with if you can. 3 And this is the biggest dosent matter if your first or last everyone cheers for you. I was close to last and yes I did walk some of the race. But you feel great when you cross the finish line. You can do the race in September or October when its cooler and will give you more time.  Good luck . Vin S

80 deg is high mid 60s is better. Did you lightly stir beer into sugar solution, You might find some bottles more carbed and taste slightly different. Let beer sit sometimes days or a couple of weeks help. Most important ask lots of ? and brew again.

« on: September 02, 2011, 05:15:56 AM »
I have used as a randall and works great. Go slow let rocket fill up and sit full a couple of minutes and the flavor shines . They do foam pour into a pitcher first let settle and enjoy. Well worth it.

Andy, looked up hops in NS Canada. Found A guy Josh Herbin in Wolfville. He received a grant to grow hops in 2007 and planted a acre. I dont know your location to his but maybe make a joint venture or see what he does.

If he is makeing a harvest / fresh hop ale from my understanding your not drying the hops, your picking and brewing. You might cut the bine at the bottom a day or 2  before to make bine and leaves and cones dry alittle might make picking easier.
