*headslap*  paid twice  couldn't go a third year without being able to enter.  This is a bucket list item for me.

This is such garbage! In hours we go from "The American Homebrewers Association (AHA) is deeply sorry for the problems associated with NHC registration. The AHA worked in advance with our providers to ensure that registration would be seamless [how you say that with a straight face is amazing]. But as we all saw, that did not result as promised or planned. We accept responsibility for the system’s failures and apologize for the headaches." to:

"You are receiving this message because our records show that you have at least one entry registered but NOT paid for in the 2013 competition. There is still time to pay for and complete your entry or entries.  If you believe you have already paid for your entry or entries, you may log in to the competition system to verify your registration."

Duh - I know I registered, because you are now contacting me to say I have an unpaid entry I already paid for and have a receipt for AND you are FORCING me to pay again.

Maybe I should give your legal section a little workout in civil court.

I'm glad they finally recognized a problem, but having lost 2hrs at work to finally get registered, and paid, I really hope we're not starting from scratch again.

Are your entries showing as paid on the registration site?  I got the email confirming payment from Janis and I see the pending transaction on my credit card but mine aren't showing paid on the site.
Ditto - actually have entry # 00010!  got six in over a two hour period, got note thanking me for paying from Janis but not on site.  Hope they don't purge the database like it says, after 24 hours of nonpayment...

I've noticed that the results of informal competitions of any kind are very unpredictable and useless.
Funny, when we have a "Taster's Choice" competition at my HBC the IPA always wins...

some of my random thoughts:

1. Incredible beer means you're at the bottom of the Keg.

B. No one buys the brewer a beer.

wow, you guys are advanced.  I just spray down my taps with sanitizer after cleaning them and then put plugs over the taps.  When I grab a beer, I just put the plug back on when I am done.

no fruit flies for the last two summers.

My brewing is all based on whim and club competitions...

I actually have a 5 gallon bucket of starsan for larger items... Like this.

Soak the bag, drain it and fill with hops.

OR, you can dry hop in the fermenter. Wait until activity has slowed down (little airlock activity, or 4 points above expected final gravity). Pour hops directly into fermenter and swirl the carboy/bucket to get everything nice and stirred up.  Repeat the swirling once or twice a day for the next 3 days, then let settle until day 14 of fermentation. rack off and you are done.

replace the ring with an empty pint glass with the foam sliding down the sides - better yet, remove the glass and just have the Belgian lace remaining.  I could do it for a shirt or two...  ;D
