The Pub / Re: There's a first time for everything...

Gotta start some time! What a privilidge it was yours. My grandpa naever had a drop in his life. One time he did get pretty ripped on some bourbon balls, though. He had no idea what they were, just kept popping them like Tic-Tacs. When both me and my sister were young, he offered us both 1000$ if we promised not to drink till we were 18. (he still thought that was legal age) Neither of us took him up on it.  ;D
now look where you're at ;D

i was watching the local tv channel the other day and the reporter was talking about something 'rural' and pronounced it 'rule'. pissed me off so i emailed the station and told them theat they should train their reporters to pronounce words correctly. got no response ::)

Irregardless, I'll bet that caused a nucular reaction!  That was very disrespectful to you and I.
its regardless, not irregardless and why is that disrespectful?

I grew up in IA.  The screen at out drive in movie would get blown down every year.  Seems like one small town would disappear every tornado season.  I spent a memorable afternoon hiding from a tornado in a church basement after dropping acid....
so did you see god that day? ;D

All Grain Brewing / Re: I'm going to do a decoction, damm!t...
« on: April 26, 2011, 09:04:51 PM »
How about setting up a global "decoction day". We can all do our decoctions and then discuss how we screwed them up.
I'm gonna do one this weekend too but for a cream ale.
sorry, i'm out. did a triple decoction this winter on a doppelbock it was my first and last . made a real good beer but was it worth it? i doubt it, as it took over 6 hours maybe closer to 8 if i remember, i try to put it out of my memory. but it did take first place in nebraskas statewide homebrewer club comp.

you say arc welding, is this d.c. with a stick? eitherway go slow and move the stick in a circular motion as you pull it down the seam.

i've got a few bottles of an iipa that have been stored at room temp for over 3 years and they are still good. if you plan on storing for any length of time make sure of your sanitation practices and don't introduce oxygen at any time.
