All Grain Brewing / Re: Round Igloo or rectangular cooler for mash tun
« on: September 05, 2010, 02:48:16 PM »
If anyone is looking for a round 10 gallon cooler I noticed the local Home Depot (Urbandale, IA) had some on the shelf for $39 this past weekend.

That's about what my wife said the one she gave me for Fathers Day had cost a few years back.  It worked great but cracked on the inside by the faucet port after 15 or so batches..

Paul

Are they This Color?

Ok,
My $.02...........I use enough hulls to cover the bottom of the cooler to the depth of the braid.  I wash the hulls with
the mash tun preheat water in the cooler because they are DIRTY for sure.  Uh sometimes I have slow runoff
even with this.  Braid is most of the length of the cooler (2/3) and 1/2 inch diameter.  My bulkhead may be the culprit.

I also add a dash of mex vanilla to my softdrinks that kind of gets the aromatics going.
I like to mix and enjoy the Flavored beer syrups that we sweeten with stevia and then a tiny bit
of honey and or sugar as a last resort.  These things are good.

I use the carbonator nozzle that fits on a 2 liter plastic ginger ale bottle to carb up, that way my kegs stay free for BEER

Get some V8 Fusion Peach Mango....(not the Splash / mango peach) and carb that up....put it over some ice....

WOW  is all I can say

Those are "pine mushrooms" technically "Tricholoma magnivelare "
otherwise known as matsutake.  only under old growth lodgepole with some open spaces/brush
mixed in....they are almost subterranial. Smell like spice...vaguely of cinnamon.
I put my finds on here for the world to see...

The flesh is more like a water chestnut/vegetable....firm. These are destined for the sautee skillet with a pinch
of sea salt cooked hot in butter till crispy golden.
