Pulling too much current will not trip a GFI. A conductive path from neutral to ground will. Probably had enough dirt in there to create that, especially if conditions were moist.

Yeah, I'm definitely leaning towards shine with that one.

When brewing 10 gallons finished in a 15 gallon keggle it's not a matter of if but when you have the mother of all boil overs. Doing this repeatedly leads to serious carbon deposits on the outside. Once in a while I take a while wheel to it. For the rest, indeed it's character, or rather, patina.  8)

Rule out the water by getting some from a different source. Why rack to secondary after a week? Let it be. Less chance for bugs. Check the dates on your yeast. Is your LHBS getting fresh/refrigerating?

I would use the usual amount of sugar. If it over carbonates it is very easy to bleed it down before pumping.

My LHBS (Keystone Home Brew Supply) in Bethlehem PA is staffed by knowledgeable and friendly people. They carry good stuff and it's always fresh. There is usually something to sample too.... 8)

If you want there to be a store where you can run to for an "Oh Shid! forgot to order XYZ moment" you need to buy everything there so they can stay in business, even when you know you're paying a few $$ more.

You said motorized brewing cart?

I said motorized beer cart.....not brewing......

Here's where I am right now. A serious (plasma cutter) induced weight loss program, as well as being shortened.......

New steering and braking mechanism taking shape....

I think I like that last idea. Yes Ron, I should be here more often. Moving at the speed of life, ten gallons of stuff in a five gallon bucket and more such cliches. Speaking of buckets of gallons, just started a brewing spree. Four buckets of triple in the fermenting chambers. Need all I can make for an SCA event in July.

Also, working on a new beer cart. Started with a 1978 EZGO golf cart. Stay tuned...... ;)

HAH, fixed it. Flickr doesn't make it easy though.

Back to green hops..... is there a DIY to get a ballpark bittering power of your home grown? Or is it pure trial and error....?

I assume you didn't use it for bittering? And how the heck did you get that picture to show?

Hi Denny, are you seeing the pic? I get a blue "?" (MAC equivalent of the red "x") It's on flickr.....

Interestingly a right click on it gets me to the pic, so it's just the thumbnail I'm not seeing.....hmmmm

Ok, worked all night and hoofed down here at noon, figuring, you know, early morning bar atmosphere, quiet, chat with the bartender... Wrong..... The joint is PACKED.

Meanwhile, the Sneak Attack saison is awesome.
