Was supposed to be heading to the beerfest in SLC but have a sick kid.  So while she's resting I'll be brewing my buddy an American Wheat and dry hopping my Pliny clone.  This will be the fourth brew weekend in a row.  After all the summer get togethers my kegs are dwindling so its nice to start replenishing them.

Im just going to pretend that Pete Carrol will make a decent nfl coach and lead the hawks out of the mess they are in.  If we can keep Hasselback off his back it will at least be an improvement.

I built this one that I saw here:

Very easy build, small and classy.  One problem is now I wish I had more on tap.

I plan on picking my hops Saturday night and making a fresh hop beer Sunday morning.  My plan was to pick them and store the ones being used in the fresh hop beer in zip locks in the freezer and dry the rest.  Hopefully this works well.  The differing opinions on here has me a bit nervous as this is my first go at it.  Guess I'll plug away as planned and let everyone know how the hops were on the brew day.

10 gallons of a basic apa

probably not 5 ozs. for a 5.5 gal batch.  I just brewed a similar clone for it using 1 oz. but I moved it down to 10 minutes left.  It is still maturing but it tastes very good.

I have the BC and it works very well...most of the time.  Like others have stated it stalls during the middle of the crush on occasion.  Usually if I try to compact the grain or reverse the drill for a second it gets going just fine.  After I had it for about a year it just wasn't working at all.  I contacted the company and sent it back in.  They fixed it up very quickly and sent it back to me free of charge.  Really decent customer service.

I'll be making the Pliny clone.  It will be nice to clear the freezer of the abundance of hops for this one.

I'll be filtering a sorachi pale ale tonight and brewing an amber ale Sunday night.  I'm starting to run low as well, something about summer and after softball game parties tends to run my supply low!

All Grain Brewing / Re: Black IPA?

If this does become a BJCP style (which I think it should) it should in no way be classified as a "Black IPA" but rather as an "India Dark Ale" (IDA) or even a "Cascadian Dark Ale."  Just my two cents.
