I think it pretty much comes down to which method they use to get the cells.  One method is essentially a couple of shots and a blood donation, the other is from the hip.  I don't think I'll know which it is until pretty close to the donation, it's at the patient's doctor's discretion.  Either way it won't be for 2-3 months.  I'll just need to load up my fermenters and kegs ahead of time if it's going to be from the hip.

Has anyone ever donated bone marrow?  I just came up as a match for a woman with lymphoma and I'm wondering if anyone on the board has done it before and has any thoughts.  I'm going to donate, just wondering how long I'm going to be on my back for.

look for bjcp sponsored competitions:

you don't have to be present just mail your brew to the appropriate location.  Or i'm sure if you asked you could find a few people willing to try your homebrew on the forums if you mail it to them, or if you're lucky find someone close enough to drop it off.  Sadly i'm not bjcp certified or I would offer to do it for you.

+ a lot on join a club.  Chances are pretty good they'll be at least one bjcp certified member, and even if there isn't i'm sure they can offer you some solid pointers.

I'm an underground brewers member, but it might be a bit of a hike for you.  We're mostly located around trumbull.

no idea if this list is up to date, but it might be a good place to start:

Frisky Weasels Stout

I think the generator though i was someone else on the board  ;D

how often do i brew? hard to say, it depends on how much free time i have and how many open carboys are available.  I'd guess 2 5 gallon batches a month.

My current cost?  As above it varies a lot per batch, but I try pretty hard not to look at how much it costs.  I would say from 20-50 bucks a batch, but i tend to lean towards the more expensive end of the spectrum.

If a miracle happens and i get to brew professionally my choice would be to go the route of a brewpub.  I reason that gives you more variety in what you brew, and more room to experiment than a commercial brewery.

Hell yes I would take my hobby to the next level if i could.

Money is the factor holding me back as others have stated.

It's good to know you;re making spectacular beer.  Blue coolers have been known to give 137% efficiency.  ;)

Denny, your vbip has turned all my friends into beer ninjas.  I had 5 messages this week asking when I was brewing it again!

Paul, unmarried but I have a girlfriend, 24.  I've been brewing for almost 3 years now and see no signs of slowing down anytime soon.  Currently finishing my molecular and cellular bio degree, then its back to the workforce for me.

Kegging was the best money I ever spent, although i'm bottling tonight.

My friends refer to me as "the beer baron" as a reference to the simpsons episode "Homer vs. the 18th amendment".  For those of you who aren't simpsons nerds like I am, prohibition occurs in springfield and homer begins a profitable business of making his own booze.

Most importantly i use a blue cooler.
