I'm still a little mad about the whole Tech Talk thing but I'll stick around for another year and vote.  Good luck to everybody.

Welcome to the forum.  Come back often and I think you'll forget about Tech Talk.  It's a great group in here.

Stories by homebrewers gone pro.  Was turning a hobby into a job/business the right thing to do?  There are some awesome pro brewers out there that started as amateurs.

How about reprinting some of the best threads from this forum?  There's some great stuff in here.  It may lead to more participation in the forum.

Hey Jill - you only get 1st Kit rating?!

Considering who you are and what you do, I think you rate at least Omniscient Godhead...   ;)

Need to consider my favorite 20, and how many are available in the US of A.  I'll get back to ya.

I made some kalbi beef, it was delicious!  Still working on the recipe though, it needs to be a bit sweeter with less rice wine.

With all the Koreans living here, Kalbi is a very popular dish in these parts.  YUM!

Jambalaya paired with Lori’s Bavarian Wheat Beer—a Coconut Cup Bronze winner (E)

Hey, if you'd have gone to Jd's Stout and Stogie party last weekend you wouldn't have to smoke hops!

I'm glad to see someone else has discovered the complimentary flavors of jambalaya and weissbier...

Sounds like a good time Jeff!  Looking forward to seeing/reading more about it.  Say hi to Wayne Wambles for me.

Oh well...electricity is overrated.  But after December 2008 and February 2010, any power outage less than a day is just a blip.

We lost power for 10 days at my house in Orlando after hurricane Charley.  That was in August of 2004.  Summer in Central Florida without AC or fans is less than pleasent.

Funny thing was, I was working at an Orlando Utilities power plant at the time.  Plenty of AC at work.  Unfortunately I lived in a Progress Energy service area, and power service was slow to be restored.  It was a line crew from Iowa that finally got the power back on in my neighborhood.  There were line crews from just about everywhere in the US working that hurricane.  I met some great linemen that summer.

We had four hurricanes in six weeks in 2004.  I moved to Hawaii in January 2005.

23lb cat?!  Good grief!  Dats one big kitty!

I've got a momma cat and four 4-week-old kittens that weigh 11 lbs all together.  One kitten sleeping under my chin keeps almost half of my neck warm.  And the purring is so loud it's hard to go to sleep.   :)

Beer Travel / Re: Another beer project , The Great Baltic Adventure
« on: February 25, 2011, 04:32:41 AM »
Just sharing another beer project I am about to embark on here:

The Great Baltic Adventure , is a sailing journey from London up the Thames, across the North Sea, to the Baltic Sea and deliver firkins of Imperial Russian Stout to the historic city of St. Petersburg Russia, following the old nautical charts of when Catherine the Great developed an affinity for Stout in the late 18th and early 19th century.

Gee... that sucks.  How did you get roped into that?   ;)

Looking forward to reading about your adventures!  If you should find your way into the Pacific and down around the Port of Hilo in the Sandwich Islands give me a shout.  I'll meet you at the dock with some local kine pia.

Usually, if one wants unbiased opinions, one does not include one's preference in the polling question.

All three are nice.  I like #3.
