Forgot to list oregano.  Thinking about starting some mustard and collards.

BTW Ghost pepper = Naga Jolokia = Bhut Jolokai = ATOMIC!
I'm very jealous punatic, but surely there's something I can grow here that you can't grow there.  Like hops :)

No can.  Way too wet for hops a my house.  But I suspect that there is somewhere on this island that can.  We have all but two of the world's climatic zones here.  Now, if I can just figure out where the Willamette-like zone is... ;)

I find it amusing to see people using technology to communicate dislike of advances in technology.

I had a buds kid in my car for a ride. He looked at the cranks for the windows and asked "What are these"? I told him they are for rolling the windows up and down. HE said "Thats stupid"

What do you suppose he would have thought if you had had to step on a starter button on the floor board to get the engine to turn over?

I really need to learn how to take my hands off my staff.

If you don't stop, you might get a staph infection and lose your vision!

Learning to take my hands off of the controls and trust my staff was the toughest part of being in business.  Best lesson I ever learned though.

[Work has been busy, but productive, so that's good.  I made a bit of a breakthrough that's going to be the focus of my next paper I think, which will help me finish by June.

So I'll be around, maybe a bit less, but still around :)

I am fortunate to have a home office where I can do most of my office work (and an awesome staff that do great self-directed work in the office and lab.)  I have three monitors on my work station.  I often have a SCADA control screen on one, writing a report or doing research on the middle monitor with streaming radio in the background, and surfing the boards on the third.   The 21st century way cooler than I ever imagined it would be…

It's spring pretty much all year round here.  I’ve got a nice size piece of ground, and a big part of why I live here is to grow things.   I plant and harvest continually, so it's easier just to list what I have growing.  These are my food plants.  Flowers and stuff later if you’re interested…

Avocado
Banana
Basil
Carambolla (Star Fruit)
Celery
Chives
Cilantro
Citrus:
  Duncan and Ruby Red grapefruit
  Eureka lemon
  Bearss and Key lime
  Blood, Navel and Valencia oranges
  Pommelo
  Dancy and Murcott tangerines

Things that make you go hmmm?

Would you be imitating a Mazda rotary engine?

"Piston engines go boing-boing-boing, but the Mazda goes hmmmmmmmm."

Yes.  Sorry.
The waves were cranking and I stayed out till it was too dark to surf anymore.

Sippin a Guiness Foreign Extra Stout now.  YUM!

Now you know how I feel most of the time here in the last time zone (UTC -10).  Everybody's already asleep during my prime online hours.

My life is sooo sad!  I have to live in Hawaii.  (a tough gig for sure, but somebody's gotta do it)

Tubercle "sails" in his 18 foot ProCraft with a 150 Mercury. Get you some... 8)

Punatic used to sail across the wake to get around the balls behind his Ski Nautique pushed by a 351 Cleveland V8 inboard.  That was on the Butler Chain of lakes back in Florida.  Here in Hawaii the water is too bumpy for that kind of foolishness.  Punatics knees cannot handle the punishment anymore.

Yeah - I like to go fast.  My dad worked for NASA during Apollo and we were stationed in Bermuda for two years.  We built a Comet and sailed in races in St. George's Harbour every Sunday.

My girlfriend had a Hobie 16.  We sure had some good times in that boat!  It made sailing the Comet seem pretty tame.  Haven't spent much time sailing monohulls since then. You get old waiting to get where you're going.  But, I love sailing and won't turn down an opportunity to catch a ride in a monohull - beats the heck outa pullin' yourself around in a kayak!
