General Homebrew Discussion / Re: regular beer line up
« on: January 06, 2014, 09:22:42 PM »
I have mostly moved on to the next big thing, so the main thrust of my fermentations are focused on that.  However, I do have three brews I've settled on to be in the regular rotation (on tap all of the time):
Munich Helles, Coriander Marzen, and Imperial IPA.  The helles I've brewed 139 times, the marzen 103 times and the IIPA 61 times.  Brewing them has become so routine, I don't even measure temps or gravities anymore.
In a word: repeatability (it's stems from my lab training, I guess).

Every once in a while, just to mix things up, I brew a Pre-prohibition Pilsner (aka CAP) - 28 times

It seems so simple, but I used to think every beer needed a secondary. Maybe because so many instructions mention it. Now there is a swing toward never secondary. I'm just pointing out why it's called secondary fermentor... hence when to use one.

Packers got more handsy than a teenager at prom. Maybe they took a seminar from the Seahawks. ;)

Was that Aaron Rodgers or Harry Houdini playing QB for GB?  Sucker made some miraculous escapes!

I had one that I would take up to my friend Steve Fried, the brewer at McGuires Irish Pub in Pensacola.  He would fill it with his barleywine, "What the Gentleman on the Floor is Having," as a donation to the Sunshine Challenge every year.  A VERY nice barleywine BTW.

No worries corky, it is an honor to represent every man!   ;D

Having lost numerous posts into ether-space, I have learned to copy my posts before submitting them.  That way when they disappear all I have to do is paste them back into a reply and try submitting them again.

I don't care for auto siphon and now just use a length of tubing. I start it with a sanitized turkey baster.

Hey, I have a friend named Turkey Baster.  He rides a motorcycle so he doesn't use an auto syphon either. (He was named after his dad)

Back on the syphoning path, again?!  :o

Yes, Jeff is right.  It is a Hoff-Stevens keg.  They are a pia to work with compared to sanke kegs.

Do you know something the rest of everybody doesn't?   ::)

Jeff Tripplette is the Referee  :o

Brings extra meaning to the term wild card, ay?   ;D

The game in Indy was pretty amazing.  Luck picks up a fumble and dives into the endzone...  nucking futs!
